When you click with your mouse on a Chicago community, a gallery of
detailed maps is displayed for that community (only South Lawndale maps
complete). There are maps of tutor/mentoring programs, businesses,
churches, and schools. You can find contact information for each
organization shown on the map when you click on the individual locations.
In future versions we will map the entire city, and some suburbs of
Chicago. In each category (schools, business, churches, tutor/mentor
programs, etc.) we will create sub-categories, to help users gain an more
detailed understanding of the challenges facing youth in the neighborhood,
as well as the assets available to overcome those challenges.
We seek donations and partnership from business, university and
philanthropy partners who value this system, want to use it in their own
community, and don't want to reinvent the cost of creating a system that
could be used by multiple stakeholders in multiple locations. If you are
interested in investing or volunteering time, email
or call 312-492-9614 to get involved.
